What was your age, gender, height, weight before your fast?
Age: 58, Height: 5’2”, Weight: 120 lbs

What was your weight after completing the fast?
101 lbs

Why did you decide to fast?
I was unable to assimilate my food without the aid of digestive enzymes. And every evening I would drink phsylium.

What was your biggest apprehension going into the fast?
I did not have apprehension at all. I heard Loren speak and what he said made a lot of sense to me.

Did you ever consider ending the fast during the process? If so, why? Why did you continue/stop?
No, I was ready for 21 days… but I was so happy to reefed on Sunday on the best watermelon I have ever had!

Did you accomplish what you set out to do with your fast?
I hope so, yet it is too soon for me to know as I have not started to have regular bowel movements just yet.

Would you recommend that people have their fasts supervised? Why, or why not?
Absolutely – I could not have done this type of fast on my own for 21 days on water. I loved the support of Loren and my roommate and all the wonderful interns that looked after me in the process.

Why did you choose to fast at the Tanglewood Wellness Center?
I heard Loren speak in Toronto and as I mentioned it really all made sense to me – also the way he speaks about eating raw food in its natural form.

What was your experience like at Tanglewood?
Absolutely fantastic.

What did you experience during the fast?
I spent so much time within…I felt it was a total luxury.

How did you spend your time?
Sleeping/resting/meditating and stretching a bit into my 2nd week and when I felt stiff and had enough energy. Also reading and chatting and attending two lectures a week. They were a treat and movie night on Wednesday. I had 1-2 massages a week as well.

Were you hungry during your fast?
A little in the beginning.

Did you get weak?
Yes.

What was the best part of the process for you?
Being still and going within – and lying looking at our great view and walking in the gardens and watching the flowers grow and looking at bugs and birds and butterflies.

What was the most difficult part of the process for you?
The nights in the beginning.

Was it ever painful? Did you experience discomfort?
Yes.

What are you experiencing now after the fast?
I have been re-feeding for 5 days now, and every fruit has been more delicious than the other. I love the slow/taking time to enjoy the food.

What kind of diet are you following after your fast?
Raw/fruits/vegetables, easy to prepare – just cut it open and eat it!

Is eating difficult for you now that you’ve complete the fast?
No.

Would you fast again?
?? I can not say today, I am still in a sense of fasting…

What advice would you give to other fasters?
Do it!! And prepare yourself mentally first.
