106 lbs. after fast

Why did you decide to fast?
I knew my body had a lot of cleansing to do and was in a crisis situation. I felt this was an excellent way to address both these issues.

What was your biggest apprehension going into the fast?
Possible symptoms that may arise.

Did you ever consider ending the fast during the process? Why and why did you continue or stop?
No.

Did you accomplish what you set out to do with your fast?
Not completely, but I feel it was a great start.

Would you recommend that people have their fasts supervised? Why or why not?
Yes – I felt much more comfortable due to the monitoring during the process. Any questions about what was happening to me were readily andwered and explained by experienced people.

Why did you choose to fast at the Tanglewood Wellness Center?
It came highly recommened by Roz Gruben.

What was your experience at the TWC like?
I felt genuinely cared for by the entire staff, and also the other guests as well.

What did you experience during the fast?
I lost no energy – did not experience any weakness. (I had hoped to “slow down” somewhat as this was one reason for coming) and continued the same sleeplessness I came with. The panic sensation in my chest gradually disappeared. The general aching gradually eased.

How did you spend your time?
Resting, some reading, sitting outside.

Just purified water? Did you get hungry?
I felt a strong gnawing most of the time.

Did you get weak?
No.

What was the best part of the process for you?
Knowing I was cleaning out my body and that I was doing something positive towards better health.

What was the most difficult part of the process for you?
Drinking all the water since I usually don’t drink water or any other liquid/beverage. I didn’t feel I could fully “vent” my feelings/emotions in a way I was comfortable because of the “open” surroundings – people.

Was it ever painful?
Not physically, other than I had a continuation of some of the symptoms I had come here with.

What did you experience after the fast?
During the re-feeding, as I was allowed to move around more (go for walks) I began to feel more relaxed than I have in 2 years. I began to enjoy some things for the first time in a long while.

Did you experience any changes due to fasting?
Feeling the beginnings of some mental relaxation. Starting to feel some moments of enjoyment.

What kind of diet did you follow after your fast?
Same as before I came. 100% raw. The majority being fruit in mono-meal form. Some salads.

Was eating difficult afterwards?
It’s not difficult but I don’t really feel like eating. The food does taste good.

Would you fast again?
Yes.

What piece of advice would you give to other fasters?
To be pleased with even small improvements even though the fast did not give you as much as what you wanted or maybe expected.
