Why did you decide to fast?
Irritable bowel, acidosis, candide sinus infection.

What was your biggest apprehension going into the fast?
Time spent away from family and work.

Did you ever consider ending the fast during the process? Why and why did you continue or stop?
Yes, while having an attack of irritable bowel on the second night. Dr. Trader helped me through.

Did you accomplish what you set out to do with your fast?
It appears so, but time will tell.

Would you recommend that people have their fasts supervised? Why or why not?
Yes, because it’s so reassuring during such a vulnerable time.

Why did you choose to fast at the Tanglewood Wellness Center?
Read about it on the internet and it seemed to be just what I was looking for.

What was your experience at the TWC like?
I felt nurtured and cared for.

What did you experience during the fast?
Cleansing and weakness.

How did you spend your time?
Resting, reading, meditating, talking.

Just purified water? Did you get hungry?
I did feel hunger but I don’t think it was real hunger.

Did you get weak?
Very!

What was the best part of the process for you?
The insights, my fellow fasters and the staff. The beautiful surroundings.

What was the most difficult part of the process for you?
The weakness.

Was it ever painful?
Some, but mostly not.

What did you experience after the fast?
My energy is returning nicely and I feel hopeful.

Did you experience any changes due to fasting?
Too soon to tell.

What kind of diet did you follow after your fast?
I would like to follow a hygenic diet.

Was eating difficult afterwards?
It was in the beginning, but I’m hungry now.

Would you fast again?
Yes.

What piece of advice would you give to other fasters?
To bring a coloring book and crayons.
